Geeked

HBO has been airing teasers for the final season of "The Wire". Needless to say, I'm incredibly fired up for this. I stand by my statement that as a whole, "The Wire" is the best show in the history of American TV and possibly the greatest achievement in the history of audio-visual media. And this includes the whole Pink Floyd-Wizard of Oz nonsense.

There's still ample time to catch up on seasons 1-4 before the new episodes air in 2008. You'll thank me later.

How about a sub topic on favorite characters from "The Wire." For me, I have a fondness for some of the obvious choices, Stringer and Proposition Joe, but I also think that Lester Freamon as one of the more underrated characters, I like his brand of eccentric yet classy and quiet competence he brings.

Yikes! Sorry for the disjointed sentence, I am on like 2 hours sleep. It should read: "is one of the more underrated characters. I like his eccentric yet classy demeanor and the quiet competence he brings."

Please call off the grammar police.

I'm with you Pooh. SO many good characters in that show. I lean towards Bunk as the tippy of the top, but Bubbles, McNulty, and of course Omar are all up in that grabmosphere as well...

Just finished DVDs of Season 3, and planning on doubling up (Netflix-wise) with Hops on Season 4 as soon as it comes out, to do a Season 4 marathon session...
